BLUE MOUNTAIN DRIFT
A website built for a fly fishing guide made with NextJS. It features a gallery with the client's instagram posts that updates automatically using Zapier. CSS modules were used to keep styling scoped and organized.
ROCK PAPER SCISSORS
A challenge for Front End Mentor built with vanilla JS. Assets and design template provided by frontendmentor.io. It features a score keeper that persists in local storage, asynchronous functions that control the timing and flow of the game, and mobile first, responsive styling with SASS.
TWO FIRE TABLE
A website built for an open fire cooking event caterer. Built with Gatsby, featuring a newsletter form linked to mailchimp and an instagram feed that redeploys the site when new posts are detected.
SPACE JUNK
Built with NextJS. A collection of widgets that showcase interesting data and images pertaining to space and astronomy using custom hooks to fetch data from various APIs. I used Sass for this project to create reusable variables and mixins, making styling scalable and fast.
ADAM WILDER AERIAL PHOTOGRAPHY
A portfolio site that hosts my aerial photography. Built with React. It features a landing page with a cinemagraph background image and page routing with React Router.
ABOUT ME
Aerospace welder turned front end web developer. I started programming in the summer of 2020, learning Python, HTML, CSS, and Javascript. I then dove into React, which led to building my own projects with GatsbyJs and NextJs and eventaully winning freelance clients.
Being a lead welder in the aerospace industry, I learned many skills that are applicable to programming. Building things that go to space and keep commercial jets in the air, you develop an acute attention to detail. Collaborating with engineers to develop specialized components honed my communication skills over the years. I managed and trained a team of up to eight other aerospace welders to ensure our parts were of the highest quality and shipped out on time, challenging my time management and soft skills.
Outside of programming, I'm a guy in his mid thirties that still skateboards. I also love rock climbing, building computers, and my derp of a dog, Lemmy.
